Way marking completed
May 16th, 2011
Way marking the route for Mary/Michael Pilgrims Way was completed today. The way markers are made from sustainably sourced local oak, with the pilgrimage logo lazer etched on. In most cases they have been fixed to existing footpath finger posts.
They are designed to be used in conjunction with the guidebook, acting as occasional reference points to reassure pilgrims that they are still on track. They are listed to in the guidebook text, numbered from (1) at the way marker nearest Brentor and finishing with (65), the last way marker before Glastonbury.
Thanks to Dartmoor National Park, Devon and Somerset County Council for their cooperation in allowing the way marking to go ahead and to landowners who have been generally very accommodating when approached about the location of specific way markers.
